LOKE is a Love Lock made from recycled plastic with the mission to preserve this tradition around the world. Unlike conventional padlocks, LOKE, being ten times lighter, does not contribute to the degradation of the structural integrity of bridges. This can save money for municipalities in the repairs and maintanence of infrastructure as LOKEs are 10 times lighter than the standard lock. For example, in Paris 65 tonnes of padlocks were removed from the Pont des Arts, which had to be completely renovated, and 35 tons from the Pont de l’Archevêché, which need its foundation rebuilt. LOKEs have a limited impact on the environment as they are keyless, meaning that there are no more keys being dropped in rivers. And contrary to conventionnal padlocks, which cannot be recycled, LOKES are recycled and recycable.

All LOKES are made of recycled polypropylene or PP, which Is known for being tough, flexible, and resistant to wear. It is a good choice for many applications like containers, ropes, clothing, medical equipment, and elecronics.

Mummm. Almost. All LOKES are made from 97% recycled plastic from the oceans. To be more precise, it is collected from communities with no formal waste management within 50 km of the shore line, meanint its not on its way towards the ocean. The 3% left, is just color. Otherwise.... Recycled...

Selling individual units directly to consumers could be extremely ineffective and tough for the environment because of transportation. For that reason we sell LOKES mostly for retail.
